Our Story

What comes to mind when you think about tea? Maybe it’s the warm comfort of a cup shared with friends. Or the calming ritual of steeping your favorite blend after a long day. Perhaps you think of the rich cultural traditions passed down through generations, or the soothing powers of nature’s herbs. Or maybe, you’re one of the many who’ve never quite found the appeal of tea—but we’re here to change that.

At Kettle Kreyol, tea isn’t just a drink. It’s an experience, an opportunity to pause, connect, and discover something truly special. We craft our blends to be more than just a cup of tea—they’re a taste of culture, health, and a community rooted in love.
Our founder, Cassie, grew up in a family where tea was a way of life. As a child of Haitian immigrants, brewing herbs from her grandmother’s backyard wasn’t just a tradition—it was a way to bring people together. Over the years, Cassie began crafting specialty teas that served as both a form of healing and a means of connection. What started as a way to comfort her grandmother, who struggled with Parkinson’s Disease, has evolved into a mission to share the soothing, health-boosting power of Haitian and Caribbean herbs with the world.

Whether you're looking for a refreshing alternative to coffee, remedies for stress or sleepless nights, or just an adventure in flavor, Kettle Kreyol has something for you. Our blends are for those who are curious about tea, as well as those who’ve yet to find a tea they love. We’re here to introduce you to a new way of enjoying tea—one that’s deeply connected to culture, community, and the joy of discovering something new. From our carefully curated blends made with herbs from Haiti and the Caribbean to the upcoming expansion into unique spices and even a cozy cafe, Kettle Kreyol is about bringing people together, one sip at a time.
Join us in embracing the warmth, love, and connection that comes with every cup.

Meet Cassie, Founder of Kettle Kreyol
Cassie’s journey into the world of tea started from a place of love, family, and connection. As a child of Haitian immigrants, she spent many afternoons with her grandmother, brewing loose-leaf herbs from the backyard garden. These moments weren’t just about tea—they were about fostering warmth, comfort, and clarity. “Drinking tea with my grandmother was always a moment of peace and clarity.” These quiet, cherished times sparked a lifelong passion for blending herbs, healing, and creating meaningful connections through tea.
Her vision for Kettle Kreyol grew from these roots, with a strong desire to share her Haitian heritage through the timeless tradition of tea. What started as an act of love—creating specialty blends for her grandmother’s well-being—grew into something much larger. Cassie realized that tea wasn’t just a way to nourish the body; it was a way to bring people together, to build community, and to foster moments of peace and rejuvenation.

Cassie’s journey took another exciting turn as she began exploring new ways to introduce Haitian ingredients and culture to a broader audience. From sourcing unique mushrooms like Djon Djon to considering future products and even opening a small café to bring people together, her mission remains clear: to connect people over something special, to share the vibrant flavors of Haiti, and to create a welcoming space where tea, culture, and community flourish.
When she's not crafting tea blends or dreaming up new ideas for Kettle Kreyol, you’ll find Cassie spending time with her son, binge-watching her favorite shows, and cooking up delicious meals for her family. She’s a proud member of the public service sorority Delta Sigma Theta. She is also a graduate of The Hatchery Chicago’s Sprouts Program for Food and Beverage Products, an alumni of the Good Food Accelerator, and holds an Associate’s degree in Food and Beverage Management with a Hospitality focus.
Cassie’s passion for tea and culture runs deep—at Kettle Kreyol, she’s not just selling tea. She’s sharing a piece of her heart and her heritage, with the goal of connecting everyone who takes a sip.
